About the fishing cabin
A good day fishing starts with a good night rest, and that is what we offer! This private houseboat apartment offers a large living room, separate kitchenette, a master bedroom and a sofabed in the living room. This makes our space perfect for a holiday in Amsterdam with friends or your partner(s).
There is good public transport connection into the city centre and we have lots of very nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. This way you are assured that everyone in your party will enjoy themselves.
About the fishing
When it comes to fishing, you are assured to have found a very interesting location. Our harbor is a hotspot for street fishing fans, with lots of zander and perch between and under the countless ships that are docked here. Actually the whole 'Eastern Docks' as our neighborhood is called, offer superb options for urban fishing.
Zander and Perch on the IJ-river
If you cross the island, only 100 meters to the North, you will see the IJ-river. This is the hotspot when it comes to zander. Not only during the warmer months, but especially during the winter season this is where you need to be. The zander move to the deeper water (up to 10 meters within casting range!) and can very well be targeted from the shore.
Walk further Westward and you find kilometers of shoreline to fish. Literally every meter you walk you can expect a large zander to swallow your bait. Dropshot fishing and vertical fishing are both very effective methods.
And of course you can go into the city centre to fish the canals, known for their great perch stocks. The Amstel River produces the same species, but in general just a bit larger. And this is where you can expect to catch pike as well. Not as much as perch and zander, but you shouldn't be surprised to catch pike over 10 lb here. However, if you really want to have lots of action, we recommend to focus on zander and perch.
We hope to welcome you aboard for your next street fishing adventure in Amsterdam!
Note: The Netherlands have a closed season from April 1st till the last Saturday in May. You need a National Dutch Fishing license to fish in Amsterdam (called VISPAS).
Note 2: It is not allowed to cook any fish caught in Amsterdam. We like our healthy fishing stocks and we love to keep them healthy so we support Catch&Release!

How to get there
From Schiphol Airport you'll need 20 minutes by taxi, or 45 minutes by train via Central Station and tram or bus to arrive at the Street fishing cabin Amsterdam East. From Central station it's a 10 minute bus ride that stops 100 meters away from our ship.
If you arrive by car, we have a special parking solution since you will most probably not use your car in Amsterdam.
About the area
Here in the Eastern Docklands you'll find a combination of space and cosiness. The area was laid out at a scale for the enormous ships traveling to the Dutch East Indies, so you'll feel the most space possible in Amsterdam. Since the docklands were rebuilt as a housing area there's a café in both directions on the south facing quay within 200 meters, next to a bakery, some restaurants, interior- and bookshops, supermarkets and a park. Enough facilities for breakfast, you could even stay the day for a trip through the old harbors and modern architecture.
