About the fishing
Fishing for pike and perch is not allowed march-may. Fishing for all other species, i e see trout, is allowed. Also, fishing for rainbow trout in stream Snärjebäcken is allowed but fishing license is needed.
Excellent Pike and Perch fishing in the ocean (Baltic Sea). There you can also be fishing Tench, Bream, Sea Trout and Ide. The fishing in the ocean is free, no fishing license needed. Fishing is actually at its best in the ocean bay right where the cottage is situated so you don't need to go away anywhere if you don't want variety. There are fresh water species in the Baltic See since the salt level is relatively low. Fishing for pike and perch is possible all year around. Sometimes there is ice in January - March and if the ice is thick enough ice-fishing is possible.
Best period for fishing Pike is September - November when they are focusing on recharging with new energy, among other things to produce rum and cope with the winter better. In the autumn the days are a little cooler and the pike is not as shy during the day as it is in the summer for example.
In stream Snarjebacken, about 20 minutes by car from the cabin, you can be fishing Rainbow Trout. Fishing license needed and can be bought at local supermarket. 200 SEK/ day or 350 SEK/ 2 days. Open April - November, when there is no ice. Best fishing in April - June and in September - November. Snarjebacken offers both calm and flowing water. The opportunity to fish in the stream or to stand ashore is up to you as a fisherman. Whether you are inexperienced or used to fishing, the area offers a number of different challenges. The lower section has a more open and passable terrain. The upper stretch is a more untouched environment that puts you as a fisherman to the test to reach the ideal place to drill the fish. In one area only fly fishing is allowed. When it's time for a short break in fishing, you have access to a barbecue area, where you can meet other fishermen and exchange experiences.
You can fish Sea Trout all year around. Though, fishing for Sea Trout is usually most successfully when the water is cold, during early spring (March - April) and autumn (October - December), when the water temperature is somewhere between 4 and 9 degrees. Reefs and bays are always good fishing grounds for Sea Trout. Concentrate fishing on beaches and bays facing south. There, the cold water heats up first. Choose the side with onshore wind if you are fishing around headlands and islands, here the fish are pushed in instead of out. Try to time days with southerly winds, then the chance is greatest. Places that may be empty of fish during the day can hold fish in the evening. The twilight hour is always interesting.
Fishing for Salmon and Sea Trout is famous in river Eman, about 40 km north of the cottages. Fishing license needed.
