About the fishing cabin
Get ready for an unforgettable fishing holiday from the most western location of Norway: Utvear. According to legends this is where the Vikings departed to conquer England. It does not say if these vikings had a fishing cabin, but we have taken the liberty to use the historical reference anyway.
This is one of the six fishing cabins, offering comfort to 6 guests (8 if needed). The place has two bathrooms, a living room with satelite tv and a fully equipped kitchen. When renting our fishing cabin you can use the grill, polar bath and fish cleaning facilities. We are dedicated to sport fishing and love to share our passion with you. And the view: could not be better, overlooking the water and the lighthouse.
We offer 18 ft fishing boats with 25 HP outboard engines, that you can rent per hour, day or per week. This way you are flexible to go wherever you want, whenever you want.
About the fishing
Since our island is located this far West, it’s not surprising to have very attractive fishing stocks. Although relatively undiscovered by anglers, we dare to say that you are about to enter a fishing heaven. Cod and coalfish are the most abundant species, but also pollack and even halibut are found here. During the summer period large shoals of herring and mackerel frequent the surrounding waters. This makes the place especially attractive for anglers who want to target a wider range of species.
We highly recommend to use lighter tackle instead of the traditional pilkers. Not only is it much more fun, but also you are bound to improve your catches dramatically. Sand eel imitations and other soft plastics ranging from 15 to 25 cm are highly recommended.
