About the fishing

This area has quality pike fishing to offer the visiting angler which will help you to catch that huge pike of a lifetime. Also, if you have ever dreamed of catching true wild trout, this is the place to be. It is also a great place for Course Fishing on Bream, Roach and Tench.

Pike

There is no closed season for pike so pike anglers visiting the Midlands of Ireland often target the huge network of pike lakes and rivers, many of which are concentrated in the Shannon and Erne River Catchments. Kevin, your guide at Multi Fishing Lodge, will save you time by showing you the best places to fish. There are lakes to suit every type of pike angler from smaller lakes to some huge lakes like Lough Ree and Gowna. You can expect to catch large pikes up to 16 kg. Methods to use vary upon the preference of the angler and the type of fishing preferred. In general all usual methods for pike fishing work well.

Trout

Trout is a native specie in Ireland and the country is famous for the fishing on trout. Lough Melvin is the only place in Ireland that is home to the Sonaghan trout specie. You can also expect to catch Ferrox trout which is often caught by anglers fishing on Pike as well. Most brown trout fisheries open February 15th, most close on September 30th. There are many different loughs, rivers and canals nearby that offer many different species of trout to catch. All usual methods on trout fishing can be used depending on the season and waters you like to fish. Kevin will tell you exactly what is best choice for you.

Course fishing

Ireland is the perfect place for course fishing and if you wish to catch enormous amounts of bream like a stunning 45 kg. in a day (if you're lucky), this is the place to realize that! You can catch roach and perch all year round very well. The best season to catch tench, bream and rudd is in when the water is warmer, typically from April to October. The influence of the Irish climate, as well as the habits of the fish has to be taken into account when targeting particular species. Your host at Multi Fishing Lodge can arrange a wide variety of coarse angling baits fresh for your arrival, they include maggots, casters, worms, sweet corn, brown and white crumb, and a range of continental ground bait flavors and other additives.

About the boat(s)

Multi Fishing Lodge has 5 boats of 17 ft. with engines, oars, rod holders and fish finders and all are available to guests free of charge! Help and advice is always available as is any other information, maps etc. The boats have engines from 4 hp to 10 hp and the guiding boat has 140 hp. Life jackets are provided as well.
